YIPA Treks IP:  A Celebration of the Youth’s Creativity and Ingenuity

In celebration of the National Intellectual Property Month 2022, IPOPHL holds an IP Life Cycle Video Competition.

A video-making competition open to a group of students  in a YIPA member school showcasing their creativity and ingenuity. The Competition aims to celebrate and promote the creativity of young people and raise awareness about how IP can enable inventors, creators and entrepreneurs achieve a better future.

Eligibility

  1. The group must consist of 5 students from the same YIPA member school.
  2. Only one entry per YIPA member school is allowed.
  3. Draft video entries must be submitted to IPOPHL until 11:59PM, April 19, 2022.
  4. Final video entries must be submitted on or before 11:59PM, April 21, 2022.

Awards

The winners will receive awards as follows: 

First Prize: PhP 15, 000.00

Second Prize: PhP 10,000.00

Third Prize: PhP 7,000.00(5) consolation prize: PhP 3,000.00 each

Entry Process

Your video may focus on content of your choice and must meet the following conditions:

  1. Your video must show a sustainable solution on reducing food waste in the Philippines and how your innovative solutions raise awareness on IP.  (Show the IP Lifecycle from Creation – Protection – Commercialization – Enforcement) 
  2. Your group members are the sole authors of the video and you must have obtained permission to use any third-party content that you may wish to include. 
  3. Your video shall be in MP4 format and shall be 2-3 minutes long.
  4. You must submit your entries to yipa@ipophil.gov.ph.

Selection Process

  1. IPOPHL will review your entries upon the submission of your final videos.
  2. IPOPHL’s decision  with respect to the eligibility of entries is final.
  3. Entries that contain content that is infringing, threatening, false, misleading, abusive, harassing, libelous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic, or profane will be rejected.
  4. IPOPHL will review the draft video entries on April 21, 2022 during the 2nd day of the program.
  5. Shortlisted video entries will be posted from April 25, 2022 10:00AM to April 26, 2022 11:59 PM via IPOPHL’s FB account for the public vote.
  6. The top 8 video entries determined by the judges on the basis of the following criteria will be the winners of the Competition:
    • 50% - Adherence to the problem statement and discussion of the IP Lifecycle
    • 25% - Originality and Creativity 
    • 25% - Public vote (Number of heart reaction) 
  7. Winners will be announced on April 28, 2022.
