Minimum Qualification Standards

Education: Master’s degree or Certificate in Leadership and Management Program from the CSC

Training: 40 hours of supervisory/management learning and development intervention

Experience: Four (4) years of supervisory/ management experience

Eligibility: CS Professional/RA 1080 for positions which require the practice of profession

Competency: Thinking strategically and creatively, Leading change, Building collaborative inclusive working relationships, Managing performance and coaching for results, creating and nurturing high performing organization

Patent examination competencies

Job Description:

  1. Coordinates and supervises the operation of the Division;
  2. Reviews the findings and communications of Intellectual Property Rights Specialists of the Division to ensure uniformity of treatment and issues;
  3. Recommends to the Director of Patents the grant or abandoned of patent applications;
  4. Conducts meetings with the technical staff of the division to ensure that the new instruction regarding patent rules, practices and procedures are complied with;
  5. Evaluates performance of personnel and staff of the division;
  6. Attends staff meetings and prepares special reports and other work which may be assigned by the Director from time to time;
  7. Attends meetings, conferences and seminars in connection with patents and technical subjects;
  8. Prepares and submits periodic reports as may be required;
  9. Cooperates with and assists other divisions or bureaus of the office; and
  10. Performs such other functions as may be assigned by the superior.
