The Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) presented for validation an initial IP Landscape Report to relevant government agencies, academe, and members of the Innovation and Technology Support Offices (ITSO) Network in Davao and Cebu on October 9 and 11, 2017. The report is based on consultations and analysis of data that have been gathered for the development and crafting of a National Intellectual Property Strategy (NIPS) for the Philippines.

IPOPHL has started the development and crafting of the NIPS following its project launch on 30 May 2017.  NIPS aims to mainstream and highlight the role and importance of IP in the socio-economic development of the country through a whole of society approach.

IPOPHL is scheduled to hold a similar consultation in Manila on 17 October 2017.
