Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assists in conceptualizing, planning, and implementing strategies, procedures, and mechanisms for intellectual property (IP) field operations across the regional jurisdiction assigned by the DITTB Director, ensuring alignment with IPOPHL’s mandate, policies, and strategic objectives.
2. Provides expert advisory services to regional clients, including businesses, inventors, and other stakeholders, on leveraging IP as a strategic business tool to enhance innovation, competitiveness, and commercialization within the region.
3. Conducts research, surveys, and studies on regional IP trends, challenges, and opportunities to inform operational strategies, policy recommendations, and IP promotion activities across the jurisdiction.
4. Plans, coordinates, and implements regional IP promotion and awareness initiatives, including IP Help Desk operations, lectures, advisory sessions, workshops, and outreach activities in coordination with the DTI Regional and Provincial Offices, local government units, partner agencies, and industry stakeholders.
5. Designs and delivers capacity-building programs and training sessions on IP management, technology transfer, commercialization, and related topics for clients, partners, and stakeholders across the jurisdiction.
6. Supports marketing and promotional campaigns to encourage filing of IP applications, adoption of best practices, and engagement with the IP system among regional enterprises, educational institutions, and industry stakeholders.
7. Prepares, consolidates, and submits periodic reports, accomplishment reports, and assessment documents to support monitoring, evaluation, and informed decision-making by regional and central IPOPHL management.
8. Maintains effective coordination and communication with internal IPOPHL units, the DTI Regional and Provincial Offices, local partners, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient implementation of programs and activities throughout the assigned jurisdiction.
9. Applies analytical thinking, problem-solving, and innovative approaches to continuously improve regional IP services, client engagement, and operational efficiency.
10. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Division Chief, Bureau Director, or senior management to support the delivery of IPOPHL’s regional services, technology transfer initiatives, and IP promotion within the assigned jurisdiction.
