Qualification Standards
Education: Completion of two-year studies in college (prior to 2018) or completion of Grade 12/Senior HS (starting 2016)
Training: Four (4) hours of relevant training
Experience: One (1) of relevant experience
Eligibility: Career Service (Sub-Professional)/ First Level Eligibility
Competency:
- Technical/Functional Competencies:
1. Knowledge of the patent grant and registration processes for utility model and industrial design.
2. Knowledge of the IPAS system for Bureau of Patents processes.
3. Ability to perform status search of applications in the Industrial Property Administration System.
4. Familiar with the Bureau of Patent online tools
Duties and Responsibilities
Generally assigned to any patent administrative services units
1. Collates, reviews, and organizes all relevant documents and keeps systematic records of documents for the assigned unit;
2. Coordinates with relevant staff or personnel to ensure completeness of reports, requests, and other documents received by
the Bureau;
3. Monitors status of documents and ensures efficient operations in receipt, processing and transfer of documents;
4. Prepares correspondences, notices, publications, statistical data, inventories and other reports as may be required by the superior;
5. Responds to inquiries and needs of, and prepares necessary correspondences for internal and external stakeholders;
6. Cooperates with and assists other divisions or bureaus of the office;
7. Performs other patent clerical/administrative tasks as may be assigned by superiors;
8. Prepares and submits periodic reports as may be required;
9. Identifies areas of deficiency within the scope of responsibility, and recommends solutions or improvements to supervisor or superior(s); and
12. Performs such other functions as may be assigned by the superior.
