
The Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL), through its IP Academy, in partnership with De La Salle University (DLSU), invites you to the 7th IPOPHL-DLSU Research Conference on Intellectual Property and Innovation, to be held on March 27, 2026, at DLSU – Laguna Campus.
Anchored on this year’s general theme, “Intellectual Property, Sports, Health, Wellbeing, and Wellness,” the conference highlights current trends, pressing challenges, and practical solutions in the evolving IP landscape, particularly in sectors where innovation plays a critical role in social and economic development.
This annual research conference serves as the premier interdisciplinary platform for researchers, practitioners, and educators to present and discuss the latest innovations, trends, challenges, and solutions in the field of intellectual property (IP).

RESEARCH TOPICS
Abstracts on the following subthemes are accepted for evaluation:
- Covers how IP protects and supports innovations in sports technologies, fitness tools, and performance-enhancing methods.
- Focuses on protecting creative materials such as digital workouts, sports media, and health education resources.
- Examines IP management, policy, and regulatory frameworks within sports institutions, wellness programs, and public health initiatives.
- Addresses how IP promotes sustainable sports innovations and supports healthier, more resilient communities.
- Other research topics related to Innovation, Technology, and Intellectual Property (IP) include emerging technologies, IP commercialization, patent trends, open innovation, startup IP strategies, the role of AI in IP protection among others.

- Participants must submit a structured abstract (250-350 words) that includes:

- Methodology
- Results and Implications

- Abstracts will be reviewed by the Technical Review Committee composed of experts in IP research and education.
Accepted papers will be presented through oral research presentation or poster presentation. Interested individuals may submit their abstracts through this link: ABSTRACT SUBMISSION.
The deadline of submissions is until February 13, 2026.
Authors of accepted abstracts are required to submit Extended Abstracts for publication in the 7th IPOPHL-DLSU Intellectual Property and Innovation Research Conference Proceedings.
Authors of excellent papers will be invited to submit full papers for publication in the Asia-Pacific Intellectual Property Management and Innovation Book Series.
- The presenter/s shall deliver the presentation as represented in the extended abstract they have submitted.
- The presenter/s is expected to be at the session hall at least 10-15 minutes before the scheduled session.
- Each presentation is allotted 15 minutes with a maximum of 12 minutes to discuss the highlights of their research and 3 minutes to answer the questions from the Session Chair and/or audience (Q & A).
- As the total duration of your presentations is 15 minutes, the recommended number of slides for your PowerPoint file is 15.
- The presenter must adhere to the given time allotment for their session. As such, Q&A segments must be apportioned within the time limit. No time extensions will be given.
- A timekeeper will be assigned to each session and will notify the presenters on the remaining time for each presentation. Notification cards will be raised when the time reaches 7 minutes (“5 minutes left”) and 10 minutes (“2 minutes left”) for the presenter to wrap-up their presentation by then. A “Time is up” card will be raised when the time reaches 12 minutes. The 3 minutes (Q & A) will then follow shortly after each talk.
- The presentation should be delivered in English.
- Internet connectivity may be an issue at the venue. Hence, it is highly recommended that presentations are readable or are in any of the following format: .ppt, .pptx, .pdf, .key

- The authors of the accepted poster abstracts are required to submit their posters at the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines on or before March 21, 2025.
- The poster must have the following specifications: 48 inches high x 36 inches wide (121.9 x 91.4 cm) in portrait orientation.
- Posters should include a good combination of words, pictures, and graphics and must be readable from 2 meters away.
- The authors of the accepted poster abstracts are also required to submit an electronic copy of their poster in pdf and jpeg format. It should be in high resolution.

- The poster must include the following:

- Methodology
- Results (tables, graphs, charts) and Implications
- Conclusion and Recommendations
- Authors are responsible for bringing their own poster and standee to the conference. IP Academy will not provide printing services or facilitate printing at the conference venue.
- The poster (standee) should be 2.5 feet x 6 feet (77 cm x 185 cm).
- The presenting author should stand with their posters during the designated time for poster sessions.
