IPO proposes IPR protection measures to DILG
Intellectual Property Office (IPO) Director General Adrian S. Cristobal, Jr. (left) recently met with Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Undersecretary Melchor P. Rosales (right) to propose measures to effectively protect and enforce the intellectual property rights (IPRs) in the country. Among the plans are enjoining local government units (LGUs) in initiating local ordinances protecting IPRs; the adoption of the Handbook on Investigation of IPR Cases in the curriculum of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) and the Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC); and the institutionalizing of regular IPR violation monitoring by the Philippine National Police (PNP).
