Mideo M. Cruz, 2003 Thirteen Artists' Awardee of the Cultural Center of the Philippines and 2006 Ateneo Art Awardee, is the exhibition designer. "The Alab Art Space is an expression of our commitment in support of the creative industries and how we are using the intellectual property system to develop a vibrant IP culture. These two elements are in our mission statement," Atty. Adrian S. Cristobal Jr., Director General of IP Philippines, said. "The art space which is open to all artists such as the writers, actors, dancers, musicians, and filmmakers will showcase the genius of Filipino creativity that has been honored not only in our country but in the international art scene as well," Cristobal added. The Alab Art Space will be a venue to provide basic IP orientation to organized artists' groups to inform them of their rights and how to generate revenues from these rights. IP Philippines will help establish collection societies for these groups through its Copyright Support Services Unit headed by Atty. Louie Calvario.
